Parents with a child addicted to drugs and/or alcohol can find hope in a support program called Parents of Addicted Loved-ones (PAL). There are meetings sprouting up across the country, and lives being changed every day. It’s never an easy journey, but you don’t have to go it alone.

“Descubrir que un ser querido está usando drogas o alcohol puede ser difícil. Puede haber muchas mentiras y negaciones. Una vez que esté seguro, la siguiente pregunta es: ¿Ahora que?

My older son struggles with drugs.

Thanks to my local PAL group, I now have a plan and hope for how to deal with the awkwardness and the hard times with my son.

My 21 year-old son struggled with Herion

I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know groups like this existed, but they have helped me immensely.

My son and his wife struggle with alchohol

My husband and I were at our whits end, and finally we found some hope with the help of others who have walked the same road. What a life changer it’s been.

Usually, parents are attempting to control the addict, the world around the addict and the outcomes of their addiction. Here I've found a better way.

We’ve Been There.

“The hardest thing was watching him make the same wrong decisions over and over again—and realize I couldn’t stop him”

Joyce
Early PAL Group Leader

PAL is parents helping parents. PAL contains cirriculum and guidace from parents who have been through the trials of addiction in their adult children. The cirriculum is based on first hand knowledge, and audited by research professionals at Northern Arizona University, and other entities.

What makes all the difference at the end of the day is our ability to move forward in these situations, learn from our mistakes, and “be better.” For our families. For our friends. And for ourselves.

– SEAN, PAL Group Member
