ELKHART — Three couples sit around a table sipping coffee, chatting and laughing. Two of the couples are sharing stories of their children’s run-ins with law enforcement and time spent in jail. A story is shared about a child being bailed out, only to be taken to another county’s jail on a different warrant.

“To an outsider, it would probably seem that we laugh at inappropriate things,” Jim Geyer said.
